ALERT: Jury Duty Scams

Please be aware of scams targeting prospective jurors. At no time will law enforcement or court officials call you to demand payment or threaten fines for failing to appear for jury duty. If you receive a phone call of this nature, do not provide any personal or financial information and disregard the call immediately. These calls are fraudulent. If you have questions about jury service or believe you’ve been targeted by a scam, please contact the local law enforcement agency. Stay safe and thank you for your service. Individuals may also report jury duty scams and suspicious communications to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

NEW JURY SUMMONS POSTCARDS

***** JURY PARKING *****

San Mateo Superior Court has updated the jury summons to a postcard.
Jurors may use the Court website to request a continuance or excusal, as well as submit documentation, update their address and opt in for text notification.

Please park at juror designated parking spots (identified by purple signs) and display your parking permits on your dashboard to avoid being ticketed or towed.

If the jury parking lot is full you can park in any public parking at your own expense.

Reporting Instructions

Check the reporting instructions for your group number after 6:00 p.m. the evening before your scheduled service. Please be advised we use the same group numbers every day. Only check the reporting instructions for the date shown on your summons. Your reporting location may change, please confirm the location you are instructed to report to.     Your appearance is not required. Please note that you are now excused and will be eligible to serve again in 12 months.
  • JUROR GROUPS THAT ARE ON CALL BACK STATUS
    You have been placed on call back status. You must check the court's website or call (650) 599-1700 to obtain reporting instructions at the call-back time below.PLEASE NOTE: JURORS PLACED ON CALL BACK STATUS MAY BE ASKED TO REPORT TO THE COURT ON SHORT NOTICE (LESS THAN 1 HOUR and 30 MINUTES). ALSO, NOTE THE REPORTING LOCATION AND THE TIME YOU ARE REQUIRED TO APPEAR.
  • If asked to report to Redwood City Hall of Justice, parking is located at 440 Middlefield Road, Redwood CityOnly park in juror designated parking spots (identified by purple signs): RAMP TO 2ND FLOOR, 2nd FLOOR + RAMP TO 3rd FLOOR. You must display your parking permit on your dashboard to avoid being ticketed.
  • Please verify that you are checking your status for the correct date.
  • Be aware that you may be at the courthouse from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, so please plan accordingly.
