San Mateo County Superior Court Invites K-8 Students to Share Their Creativity

REDWOOD CITY, CA - October 1, 2026 - The Superior Court of California, County of San Mateo is inviting elementary school students in grades K-8 to participate in a new student art initiative celebrating creativity, imagination, and community.

Students are encouraged to use their imagination to illustrate what makes their community meaningful to them. Artwork may feature people, places, activities, nature, neighborhoods, or any other aspect of community life that students would like to share.

The artwork will be displayed in the Court’s jury assembly rooms, creating a welcoming environment for jurors, court visitors, judicial officers, court staff, and members of the public.
