eService
The San Mateo County Superior Court provides electronic service “eService” to attorneys and self-represented litigants in Civil, Small Claims, Unlawful Detainer, Family Law and Probate case types. Self-represented litigants may opt-in to eService by filing the Judicial Council of California form EFS-005-CV, “Consent to Electronic Service and Notice of Electronic Service Address.” Attorneys may eFile the Judicial Council of California form EFS-010, “Notice of Change of Electronic Service Address,” to update the attorney email address on file.

Key Points from the eService Access Guide video:
- You will receive an eService email.
- Indicates case number and document name you are being eServed
- Includes an access link to the site AND
- User name: which is the email address on file AND
- Access code (this is unique to each document)
NOTE: Do not allow your browser to save any codes
- You will also receive a Verification email once you successfully log in with the user name and access code from the eService email. This email will include a time sensitive, one-time verification code.
- Verification code is valid for 15 minutes
- Previous verification codes are no longer valid
- Do not share the verification code with anyone
- Accessing document: One link per document served.
- Enter verification code
- Do not allow your browser to save any information
- Do not add extra characters or spaces
- Click on the link for the document you are being eServed
